Be Gorgeous Everyday thanks to the Laneige K-Beauty Blogger Workshop

Very Important Note: None of the photos in this blog post has been image edited. No filter or photoshop has been used to truly highlight the LANEIGE skincare and cosmetic products. They're amazing!

Three looks. One brand. LANEIGE!

Hello everybody!

I’ve been infected by LANEIGE mania the past week! I’ve TWEETED, FACEBOOKED, and INSTAGRAMMED all about it!

In other words, the Nuffnang-Laneige K-Beauty Blogger Workshop was DAEBAK! \(^_^)/
I learned so much! Thank you for having us there!

The star of the show! The new BB cushion! <3

The three things we learned that day – skincare, daytime look and night siren look. It’s really easy!

Geraldine gave us SOOOO many tips that day. Thank you Laneige! (^_^)

Each table had one. So pretty! <3
I also liked that they played a lot of 2NE1 songs in the background.
2NE1 is making a big comeback from July onwards, yo! NOLJA!

Me with just BB cream. Just draw on some eyebrows and I'm ready to go out!

Makeup guru Geraldine helping out my table partner, who also wore green that day. (^_^) Let's meet again!

As a Nuffnang Rookie, I’m not sure what I was expecting from my very first exclusive event, but I surely wasn’t expecting a whole row of luxury pastries and hot, steaming coffee from Starbucks just for us VIP. Thank you so much for the coffee, I had two cups of really good quality coffee while learning all about Korean beauty makeup. I was a little too nervous to eat much, though! *shy*

It was really humbling to be in a room full of a dozen Beautiful Malaysian Bloggers and to be treated like a superstar who’s endorsing a luxury skincare line. I’m pretty sure blogger BoboStephanie was sitting behind me, but I was too shy to turn around so I just kept peeking and peeking from my mirror because that girl is just so darn gorgeous hahahahaha... I want to work hard and attend even more exclusive events by Nuffnang-Laneige! You guys should work hard and join the next contest too!

I am a big fan! <3 Geraldine, teacher !

My favourite part about the whole event though has to be learning from the Super Makeup Guru, Geraldine Loy. She’s a celebrity by her own right, being recognized by Harper’s Bazaar and has worked at many glitzy events. This same Wonder Woman actually took the time out to teach us how to use our makeup products properly as well! Thank you, teacher! I will work hard every day to achieve the perfect Korean eyebrows! *bows politely* I was so touched when she actually took the time to advise me about my eyebrows because mine are exceptionally weird shaped *sigh* (pics below!)

As a take-home assignment, all of us has to blog about the event. I thought about it for quite some time on how I could create a posting that is (a)valuable (b) entertaining and not too generic because you guys would be bored if you had to read about the same event 10 times, right? So... I’m just going to show you what I learned with animated .gifs!

Basically, we learned about skin preparation, day time makeup and night time makeup. Sigh. I’m not really sure if I’m brave enough to show you my clean-face photo, so this will have to do for now, OK? OK!

Skin preparation is very important because it acts as the base/foundation for your makeup. We were taught how to use the LANEIGE White Plus Renew Line, which comes with pretty basic steps. After washing your face, you only need three more product application: Skin Refiner, Emulsion and Essence.

I always wondered how those girls on Korean dramas managed to look so flawless without a lot of makeup! Now you and I both know how! The highlight of this tutorial is the new BB Snow Cushion from LANEIGE. It’s quite possibly the only BB cream in the world in powder form, and it’s super convenient to use!

The Makeup Steps are: Foundation, Conceal, Eyebrow, Eyeshadow, Eyeliner, Mascara, Blush and Lipstick. That’s all! You can also dust on some finishing powder to lock in the makeup, but I like the dewy look given by the BB cushion.

Step One - Foundation

Step Two - Conceal Imperfections

Step Three - Draw thick eyebrows! The thicker, the better! Don't be scared!!!

Step Four - Eyeshadow

Step Five - Tightline Your Eyelids

Step Six: Lashes!

Step Seven: Blush only the apples of your cheeks

Step Eight: Lipstick (actually best applied with a lip brush)

And here is an extra large before and after photo so you can better see the difference:

Now you know the 8 makeup steps to look like a completely different girl (^_^)

Now that you’ve achieved the innocent, girl-next-door look, you can choose to stop here and proceed to do the Gwiyomi finger dance. Or, read on to learn how you can transform this daytime look into a glamorous night time concept with LANEIGE makeup!

The main point of this look is in heavily lining your eyes. To achieve a smoother and darker look with your eyeliner,  you should warm the tip up against your hand first.

The added steps are: Darker eyeshadow, heavy eyeliner, highlight and darker lipstick.

Step One: Dark eyeshadow first, then apply thicker eyeliner

Step Two: Shiny skin is not suitable for night time! Matte everything with finishing powder

Step Three: Highlight your cheekbones and nose, then apply lipstick. Done!

Check out my before and after photos! The girl on the left likes to wear vintage clothes and visit cute cafes, the girl on the right likes to dance hiphop at underground clubs. Yo yo!

So yes, I had a lot of fun at my very first Nuffnang-Laneige event and I didn’t even know anyone there! All of the bloggers, Nuffnang and Laneige staff were super friendly and there is something seriously addictive about learning how to be more beautiful. It reminds me of the introduction session during the workshop, when Geraldine asked us why we wanted to learn how to apply makeup.

For me, makeup makes me pretty and that in return helps with my self-confidence and happiness. I also like how you can transform from one person to another with just a few strokes or dab of colour. If you’re a girl, I highly recommend that you learn makeup too! It’s amazing how your world can change with a little more beauty added to it.

This must be the longest post ever! Thank you for staying with me until the end! Fingers crossed that I’ll be lucky enough to attend more Nuffnang-Laneige events!

Love from your beauty guru, Pam

I'm trying to smile brightly but I don't like it (2NE1)

So I nearly had a heart attack trying to finish my LANEIGE post last week and... if all goes well, I can finally load it up on the 19th! Fingers crossed. It's definitely the post I spent the most amount of time working on.

I learned 3 things during the Laneige workshop - skin priming, daytime sweetheart and the GIZIBE bad girl look. It looks the same, but it's not! That's the sweet, sweet nature of Korean makeup.

Anyway, thanks for waiting so patiently, you guys! Two more days to go till the final reveal!

Until then, let's bounce to 2NE1's UGLY, which was pretty much resonating in my head for the whole of two weeks.

Don’t tell me that you can understand me so easily
My ugly and crooked heart may even come to resent you
Don’t force me to talk, I’m not right for you
The cold thorns inside that patronizing gaze suffocate me

Don’t come closer, I don’t even want your concern
I want to leave away to somewhere,
I want to shout out
This world is full of lies

And we part with a gorgeous photo of the gorgeous BOM, because she's always so gorgeous *kya!!!*

I also attended the very first Malaysian Invasion Mixed Martial Arts Grand Finals at Stadium Negara last weekend. Will blog about it soon!

"just like my hopes and dreams"

The weather is really hot today! Boy, am I glad I got the air-conditioning fixed last weekend!

Other than that, today was a good day! I managed to get plenty of writing and ideas out on digital paper! Yay, brain! *clap clap clap clap*

I have finally decided that my swinging moods between Amazing Swag Princess Pam and Self-Doubting Pauper Pam can be attributed to my impending birthday in two weeks time. Oh gosh. I remember being 18 and sticking up a piece of paper on what my goals were before I turn 30. I'm turning 29 soon, so that means I basically have another year to go before I disappoint my teenage self. Haiya.

To counteract this, I keep thinking about what my hopes and dreams for the future are, because obviously, I really love my life right now but at the same time, I don't want to feel guilty that I'm not trying hard enough to be better, or to fully utilize each day as it comes.

You know?

Like, maybe I shouldn't sleep so much. Maybe I should work more and eat less. Maybe I should make more effort to be prettier. Maybe I should do more to help others. Maybe I should put my engineering degree into better use. The list of "maybe's" go on and on and on and on because I'm not the kind of kid who would be happy with just three wishes in one lifetime.

I guess I basically don't want to look back and feel sorry or regret.

I don't know if I'm ready to share my hopes and dreams with the Internet yet... but I can share something else about myself with you right now. I have a new habit of appending the words, "just like my hopes and dreams" to any random sentence. For instance:

A: It's so cold tonight.
Me: Just like my hopes and dreams.

A: The food was so expensive!
Me: Just like my hopes and dreams.

A: You're so small.
Me: Just like my hopes and dreams.

And... you get the idea. I'm trying not to say it too often anymore though, because it kind-of gives off a negative vibe to the hopes and dreams part. My hopes and dreams are sunny, wonderful and filled with unicorn magic!

Also, here's a random photo of Wewo and I at Rachel's glamorous wedding last weekend.

I promise this will be the last "emo" post of the month. Look forward to my super awesome K-Beauty Blogger Post for Laneige in the next update this week!

Love, love, Pam

our book collection at home

I have not written any money-making piece in the past 24 hours. It has not been a good start to the week!

Poppy looks like Falcor the Luck Dragon after her haircut (^_^) Kawaii!!!

I think my brain is currently overwhelmed with the many awesome stories I've accidentally discovered. If you love manga, you should try:

Arisa. I thought that it was going to be some lovey-cutesy manga, but it turns out to be a psychological comic. I couldn't put it down!

I read Shuukatsu!! - Kimi ni Naitei to sleep yesterday, thinking that a short manga will cheer me up, but in the end it costed me 3 hours of my bedtime. (T_T) It's a love story, but it's also very innocent and pure at the same time! Highly recommend!

And now, since writing something worthwhile is much better than mopping around at my work desk, I will show off my recently un-boxed book collection!

David Gemmell and Raymond E.Feist book collection. Wewo and I read the same books growing up! He also happens to be a bookworm who lifts weights.

OMG do you remember reading Christopher Pike, R.L. Stine and FEAR STREET?
I can't believe boys read those books as well!!!

This looks like a normal book shelf ...

But it's secretly hiding wayyyy more books inside! It's double-layered!

WARHAMMER Collection. My favorite is Ciaphas Cain! He's the bomb!

Dictionaries, technical Engineering guidebooks and my Sailormoon collection circa 1999.

I didn't actually bring many of my books with me during the move. Books like Harry Potter and the Twilight series are still in Klang, so basically, these are all Wewo's books!

Forgotten Realms Collection + Jim Butcher. I would read anything Jim Butcher writes, these days. Sigh.

I wonder if there will come a day when someone would look forward to reading my writing as well? (=_____________=)
*gloom doom kaboom*

Ahem, ahem. I had a lot of socially awkward fun at last weekend's beauty workshop! Will blog about that soon, too! For now, I'm going to get myself out of this funk by indulging in some grocery shopping followed by cooking up something really delicious for dinner.

three good things are enough to make me happy

Yo! Guess who's back on her feet again! *(*´∀`*)☆

Crazy traffic jam today on the way to kPop dance class. Check out my nails! ヽ(^Д^)ノ

I took some time off to get my nails done today. I ran out of 2NE1-inspired nails to do, so I did this simple one by Real Asian Beauty - it's from Super Junior. Colorful, huh! The Youtube tutorial is available here. She has lots of easy kPop nail art tutorial! <3 People seem to think that nail art takes a lot of time, patience and talent, but I personally think it's actually much easier to do as opposed to a regular manicure. On average, I can complete my nail art in half an hour.

Anyway, I am now feeling much more confident and pumped up for a few reasons...

I am going to wear this E V E R Y D A Y or, well, as much as I fashionably can. 2NE1!!! Fighting!

NUMBER TWO: I just spent three days with my favorite in-laws. It's hard to feel down when you're constantly being filled with praise, love and good food.

My in-laws are so cool that they insisted on sleeping in the same room with the dogs. Oscar and Poppy dressed up in pink ribbon and matching bow tie for the occasion.

This arrived in my Inbox 2 days ago. I won something from Nuffnang with my very first contest entry! Whoa! Thank you!!! Although, now that I actually won it, I'm kinda worried about attending this beauty workshop thing... I think I'm supposed to go there barefaced so I can get a makeover.. but... I'm not sure if the public is ready to see me without any makeup.

Anyway, I'll probably bring my makeup bag along just in-case! It's gonna be a fun day tomorrow!

And now... time for some beauty sleep because I'll be going for my first ever kickboxing class later on.

Hey! Do the Unnie Hey! Pam~

This are is left blank on purpose
